Traditionally donate buttons/options do not generate a whole lot of income for anyone and I hope that developers don't get their hopes too high and count on getting many donations because getting no donations could make them bitter and resentful (I've seen it happen) causing them stop developing or maintaining their add-on(s), but I certainly hope that donations are made and I strongly support this concept because developers most definitely do deserve compensation for all of their time and effort put into making Firefox even better.

I also hope that this will help to curb some of the tacky and sometimes sneaky practices that I've seen implemented lately to try and monetize an add-on.

"Mozilla is considers the program" should remove "is"

Sounds great. This will remove the extra step from donating to an extension. How far are we from some sort of appstore? It would be nice to be able to buy webgames from Mozilla Add-ons.
