The non-profit Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF), makers of Miro, the open source video player and aggregator, is running a fundraising to support their efforts on providing an open alternative for Internet video distribution.

Contracts to provide branded editions of Miro should become a way for the PCF to reach financial sustainability, but in the meantime, it needs the help of individuals. Plus, there’s a double benefit as two large donors have commited to contribute if there is a significant community response.

Here’s the pitch by OK Go’s Andy Ross:

You can donate via credit card or PayPal.

For other support options, try the I ♥ Miro extension which generates a small donation to the PCF for every regular purchase you make on amazon.com.
