I personally find it easier to Alt-click the link.
It also bypasses the â€œSave as…â€ box, but without all that dragging and dropping (and without an extra button on the tool bar).

You can also drag and drop the link inside the Downloads window to start a download.

very clever, I can’t make it work . And as a result of trying I have lost my Bookmarks Button. How do i get it back.
