For quicker tab switching, number them
Did you know you can quickly access a Firefox tab pressing the control key (Cmd for Mac users) and the number of the position of the tab? Now you do.
To reach the first tab, press Ctrl + 1, for the second tab, press Ctrl + 2, and so on until the eighth since Ctrl + 9 is reserved for the last tab.
Sounds good, but in practice we aren’t all able to determine the position of a tab at a glance and will end counting tabs effectively defeating the purpose of hotkeys: to save time.
Enters Fancy Numbered Tabs, a simple Firefox extension developed by Chris Gaunt, that replaces the tab close button with the position of the tab so you can quickly know what is the right shortcut. You can still close the tab by pressing the number button.

Emo, easily knowing a tab’s position is the whole point of this extension. Did you read the article or am I not understanding you?

Percy, of course i did.
I am just saying that clicking on the desired tab , if its somewhere at the end is easier with the mouse than Ctrl+9, at least for me.

Very original idea, but until i figure out on what position is the tab, i will point with the mouse. Ctrl + 1 or 2 or 3 and so on is handy but after 5th isnt so much.
