Firefox 2.0.0.11 update available now
Published: November 30th, 2007

And we have a record. For the second time this week we have a Firefox update to address an unfortunate regression that slipped into las Monday’s Firefox 2.0.0.10.
While most users didn’t and probably wouldn’t have noticed the bug in a long while, it effectively limited functionality for web sites relying on the <canvas> web object.
A hat tip for branch maintainers and build engineers for keeping up with web developers and users expectations.
To get the update, select Check for Updates… from the Help menu and follow the onscreen options.

I think a hat tip to developers and QA might be in order as well. The QA team has run itself ragged getting this thing out, you know? :-)

leopard:
1.I have a problem with getting focus on a firefox window when command-tabbing, or clicking the dock icon when I’m in a separate space. This doesn’t seem to be an issue if I do either of those things from the same space as firefox.
2.it also appears that the firefox doesnt play nice with the services menu in leopard, meaning, if i select text, i can’t ’speak it’, or run any of the other apple services that manipulate/interact with a text selection.
2b.Quicksilver also doesn’t appear to recognize a text selection made in firefox (related to the services thing?)
anyone else see these issues on their OSX 10.5.*? I don’t know if these are introduced issues from this update or not… I suspect its just platform-changing-pains with the new OS.
This is a new computer (~4weeks)…

Turns out those problems I mentioned are unresolved bugs 402045 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402045) and bug 135268 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135268), respectively. They both look pretty low priority (the services bug was posted in 2002), so nevermind.
I get so many little instances of firefox misbehaving in OS X, I think I’ll try and give Safari a second chance (although I’ll surely miss that handy del.icio.us plugin).
