Software Freedom Day 2007 bannerSeptember 15 is Software Freedom Day, a celebration of free and open source software “to educate the worldwide public about of the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business — in short, everywhere!”

The initiative is coordinated by non-profit Software Freedom International and sponsored by Canonical, Google, the Free Software Foundation, the Danish Unix User Group and MindTouch (makers of open source DekiWiki).

Teams from all the world are invited to participate registering at the SFD web site.

Mozilla will be participating of the celebration with a number of conferences in Utah, California, North Carolina and China during the days before, concluding with Mozilla24 scheduled for the same day.
