Get Safari’s SnapBack on Firefox, partially

On a recent comparison I did between Firefox and Safari for Windows, I missed to mention a extension that adds at least part of its SnapBack functionality to Firefox.

For those who haven’t tried it, SnapBack is an interesting feature that marks certain web pages as return points you can quickly go back to if you think you have got too far away from your web path.

You can set any web page you visit for SnapBack. In addition, Safari automatically marks web addresses manually entered in the location bar and search bar originated results pages for SnapBack.

SnapBack is also the name of a Firefox extension developed by Phlipp E. Imhoff, that allows Firefox users to do the same marking of SnapBack pages however no web page is marked automatically which defeats some of the benefits of SnapBack.

It has its advantages thoug: you can set keyboard shortcuts to mark the current web page and go back to the marked page, plus you can do it from the Tools menu, the page’s context menu or a toolbar button you need to manually add.

So if you are a SnapBack fan this extension will definitely close the gap.
