Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 update released

By Percy Cabello

Mozilla has released an update to Thunderbird labeled 2.0.0.4 despite being the first update to the 2.0 branch in order to catch up with Firefox’s versioning.

This update features fixes for a couple of moderate security vulnerabilities and stability bug fixes. It is now also available in Korean.

Thunderbird users should receive the update within the next couple of days but you can force it by selecting Check for Updates… in the Help menu and following the on screen instructions.

I have (as far as I know) updated with Version 2.0.0.4. In my Help menu, this update continues to be available with the message “please update immediately.” I have run the update several times and my firewall (Zone Alarm) indicates that the operational version is 1.5.0.8. Zone Alarm was disabled during the last update to Thunderbird. Is there another way that I can determine if the update was successful? When I completed the last download of V 2.0.0.4, I received a message that the download was successful.
