Powerful Firefox context search

Context SearchIn Firefox, when you right click on a text selection you can search for it using the currently selected search engine in the search bar. But it’s not always the most appropriate for what you have in mind.

Context Search, a Firefox extension developed by Ben Basson, brings all your installed search engines to the selection context menu so you can easily direct your search.

Pretty simple extension with no options and nothing more to tell about. Excellent.

Get it at Mozilla Add-ons.

Usefulness: 5/5 - Usability: 5/5 - Features: 5/5

I’m using Context Search as well - though only because I have yet to find a way to use my quicksearch bookmarks in a similar fashion…

You can use quicksearch bookmarks in a similar fashion using SmartSearch extension.

Really simple and effective. This should be a standard part of Firefox.

It should be built-in the main Firefox releases.

I sure would love to see support for TBird added back into Context Search… since Conquery still hasn’t been updated for TBird 2.0.0.4, I no longer have context search ability (in TBird).

Other than that, I love and use it all the time in Firefox!
