Just when you need it, the menubar
This is another extension that helps to keep a cleaner uncluttered Firefox. Hide Menubar, developed by yuoo2k, lets you show and hide the menu bar by pressing the Alt key. By default the menu bar is hidden. Press the Alt key and it is displayed. Do your stuff and it will hide again until the next time you need it. Pretty simple and light.
It also adds an Mainmenu Toolbar option to the View/Toolbars menu to hide/unhide the menu bar.
Get it at Mozilla Add-ons.

… OR you could use the [F11] button to do the same thing using native FFox functionality.

Probably an option but not exactly the same functionality. Full screen hides the bookmarks toolbar, status bar and even Windows’ task bar (in Windows obviously) which may be needed by a user only interested in saving some space.

I think it would be much easier to make the main menubar to appear by moving the mouse cursor to the program bar without the need for pressing the ALT key.
