Reclaim your screen
Daniel Glazman, of Nvu fame, has released Fullerscreen, a pretty simple Firefox extension that does exactly one thing: it delivers true full screen.
Where Firefox’s full screen mode (press F11) keeps the tab and navigation toolbar, Fullerscreen reclaims this space for a larger view of actual web content, and the status bar as well as the tab and navigation toolbars are all accessible by moving the mouse to the top and bottom edges of the screen. It replaces the default full screen behavior so it is activated by pressing F11. Simple and effective. It seems to me it is what full screen should be and I wish it lands on Gran Paradiso (Firefox 3 code name) soon.
Fullerscreen is not available yet from Mozilla Add-ons but you can download it from Disruptive Innovation’s (Daniel Glazman’s company) web site. Right click on the link below and select Save Link as… To install it, in the File menu, select Open File… and browse for the .xpi file you just downloaded.

True full screen for Firefox 3 : Mozilla Links
[...] Recent Firefox 3 nightlies finally offer true full screen mode. To effectively use all available screen state you need an extension like FullerScreen. [...]

What a great little extension! Definitely agree that it should be the default behaviour for Fx 3.0
Thanks for the link!
