Get form results in a new tab

Has it happened to you that you want to make a new search on a web site while keeping the current page open? For example when looking for stuff on eBay I may already have a list of items but would like to look for another brand, size or model. The search bar doesn’t know what category or price range I have already selected so I will probably need to open a new tab, copy the other tab’s web address and paste it in the new one, load it and then edit the search terms.

SubmitToTab, is a simple Firefox extension developed by nrlz, that lets you open the results of a web form submit in a new tab. Just use the usual Firefox link modifiers: Ctrl + click or middle-click on a submit button and you will open the results in a new tab. The only downside it that both methods require the use of the mouse. I would like a keyboard only option like Alt + Enter (as used in the location and search bars).

I agree, it’s a great extension, just wish it supported the keyboard.
