More search bar options for Firefox

By Percy Cabello

SearchLoad Options brings more than loading options for Firefox’s search bar. As announced, it lets you configure whether you want to open the search results in the active tab, a new one or in another tab but stay in the current one.

But you can also set it to clear the search bar or change your search engine to a defined default after a few seconds, which can also be handy and save you a few key strokes.

I find the interface however a little obtrusive. I would prefer to have these options in the search bar’s context menu instead of a dialog accessible only from the Search Options item it adds to the Tools menu. I would also like to see the clear search and reset search engine timeouts dismissed to about:config.

Cool, this I do have try out. If anything having it reset back to my “defualt” search engine would be worth while.

Autosizer is IMHO a better alternative.

Edit: funTomas, the link was broken so changed to mozilla addons. However Autosizer is about a completely different enhancement, a nice one though. Percy
