More power for multilanguage users

By Percy Cabello

Dictionary Switcher, developed by Dao Gottwald, takes spell checking to the next level. First it adds a small link to the status bar to easily switch the dictionary language the Firefox 2 spell checkers uses for the current pages. Plus it can also set the appropriate language based on the locale of the current page, and it can even remember the settings for the current page so the next time you visit it, the appropriate dictionary will be ready to go.

Dictionary Switcher

The latest version detects the language you are typing in and sets the dictionary accordingly. According to the author it is an experimental feature, but worked great in my short test. Dictionary Switcher is also available for Thunderbird and you can get the experimental version at the developer’s web site.

It’s about time somebody did that. I use a good mix of spanish and english, so this’ll come in handy for me.
