Firefox coming to French National Assembly

Linux, OpenOffice.org and Firefox will be the core of computers available for elected French National Assembly deputies. That was the decision after a study proved that “the use of free software will result in substantial cost savings, despite the cost of migration and training”.
An open source email application will be included as well but it hasn’t been determined yet. The study also suggested the use of ODF (Open Document Format) for the storage and exchange of government documents.
