Neuf Cegetel to bundle Firefox with Internet device

French Neuf Cegetel has announced (fr) the development of EasyNeuf, an Internet appliance that will include a custom version of Linux, a simplified user interface, Firefox, GIMP (open source image editor), Gaim (open source instant messenger), AbiWord (open source word processor), Gnumeric (spreadsheet), a PDF reader, as well as parental control, firewall, anti-virus and spam control software. The appliance will feature 512 MB RAM, 512 MB flash memory, no hard disk, audio out, VGA, 2 Ethernet and 6 USB ports.

The device will be bundled with DSL service at about €40/month with a 1 year contract and is expected for mid-November.
