Mange your downloads the simplest way

By Mozilla Links

Want an easier way to track your downloads? Download Statusbar is a Firefox extension developed by Devon Jensen that brings downloads management to the status bar.

Once installed it will disable showing the Download Manager when a download starts. It offers two modes: In Full mode it adds a status bar to the bottom of the screen with a progress bar for each download. The context menu for each download allows to rename, delete and open the file, its containing folder or copy the URL.

In Mini mode, it adds an icon to the status bar. Progress bars are displayed when clicking on it.

You can customize the progress bars colors according to the download speed, specify what information to show about each download, and associate an antivirus program to be ran after a download finishes, among other options.

All in all, it’s a nifty tool that enhances Firefox functionalty with an intuitive and simple interface. My only suggestion would be to use Firefox’s download manager icon (from the toolbar button) for a perfect blend and make Mini mode the default mode.
