PONG!

Firefox fans meet retro fans.

PONG!, the video game that signaled the entrance of digital addiction to homes all around is now available as a Firefox extension, developed by Captain Caveman (yep, who’d have thought).

Once installed you can play a game against the computer, with another player sharing the keyboard or another player through the network connected to a central location hosted by Captain C.

Gameplay is great. I haven’t played the original PONG! but its super simple keyboard controlled interface mimics all the original low resolution glory.

Network play however prove to be a disappointment. I just couldn’t get to play with another player either connected to the central server or with a peer in my local network even after I checked the required ports were open both ways in my local firewall.

PONG! Multiplayer also comes with a large number of options including options to customize colors, sounds, connection ports, manage a list of firends/IP addresses, and key controls.

For a rush of nostalgia, give PONG! Multiplayer at try. Available from Mozilla Add-ons.
