Firefox (Scouting the Internet) Award

René Leonhardt, from Pack 378 has created the Firefox (Scouting the Internet) award, for “all scouting sites including Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Ventures, Royal Rangers, and all other Scouting Websites that promote the use of Firefox.”
The digital patch will be awarded on a monthly basis to sites that:
- Promote the use of Firefox
- Have excellent and original content
- Promote a positive Scouting atmosphere
- Promotes safe web browsing
- Kept up to date
René has already contacted the International Boy Scouts, as well as the German and American headquarters. You may want to contact your local or national branch as well to spread the news of this award.

As the webmaster of a Scouting Web Site (http://www.pack4gardner.org) and a Firefox user and promoter, it’s neat to see something like this. The problem is, to have your website meet the standards set by the BSA, it would be impossible to earn this award. A Scouting site may not have links to non-BSA related sites. I can’t see how promoting Firefox without a link to either the site or the download would be possible. Nice thought though!!
