Mozilla has just released an update for Firefox 1.5. The update brings a number of bug fixes including patches for 7 security vulnerabilities, 4 of them labeled as critical, making it a must have as usual.
If you configured Firefox for automatic updates, you should be prompted to update within 48 hours. If not, you can manually get the update by choosing Check for Updates… in the main menu.
If you have Zone Alarm or other security application running, you may get an alert for changes detected on the firefox.exe file. This is normal after an update and you can safely grant it access to the Internet.
What you use depends in part on your needs. I rely on a number of extensions that aren’t available for FF 2 yet, and I’m not willing to jump through hoops to coerce them into believing they work (and then pray they actually will). So I run the beta for a while periodically (often prompted by “FF is great!” comments). It’s fun for a bit, but when I reach a point where I can’t get my work done, I fire up the production release.
Don’t forget about the Nightly Tester Tools extension which will make most extensions work in Firefox 2.0b2. More info at my blog: http://ffextensionguru.wordpress.com/2006/09/10/nightly-testers-tool/

I really can’t believe anyone would still be using 1.5.0.7 considering how fantastic 2.0B2 is.
