Or perhaps it's the other way round. Celtx, is an open source video preproduction tool based on currently available Mozilla technologies like standards based JavaScript, CSS, and home grown XUL, Firefox's user interface definition language.

It allows to manage characters, scenes, actor, schedule, wardrobe, budget and most of what (I guess) involves the preparation for video/animation shooting. A more in depth review can be found at NewsForge.

One concern:  I installed it using the typical setup and found that usage statistics are collected by default. To deactivate them go to Tools/Options.
